President's Message - Steve Fischer

Well, I've just been elected to serve as your president for the upcoming year and I hope to get you talking to your Board of Directors.  What do you want from your Jazz Society in the coming year?  We have some fine Sunday bands lined up and the Youth Jazz Day at the Mt. Shasta Mall on March 13th.  We are a smaller organization every year, and we need some ideas on how to continue.  If we do nothing, RJS will probably fade out in a couple of years.  We lose money at almost every concert and we'd like your suggestions on how to solve that problem.  There won't be a Redding Jazz Festival this year because last year we lost a lot of money.  If we had sold a couple hundred more tickets or had a couple of big sponsors, it would have been a different story.  I'd like your help in deciding where we want to be next year and how to get there.
