COMING ATTRACTION
"Black Tuesday" - leader, Hal Needham
This band has entertained audiences throughout California and Nevada since the early 1990's. Leader, Hal Needham continues to hold to his original promise, "trad to swing, fun music is our thing". This slogan has kept Black Tuesday busy at jazz societies all around California.
Black Tuesday's smooth and unique style of New Orleans and traditional jazz and swing has, since 1997, earned them long time participation in the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee where they have packed the popular venues at this festival.
This talented group of eight musicians has worked on improving their unique style and sound by varying the instrumental mix. Substituting the bass Sax for the tuba, as used in most Dixieland bands, gave Black Tuesday their current unique sound. Besides their unique instrumental sounds, this group has one of the top Divas of Sacramento; Suzanne Wiggins, who captures audiences singing favorites from Ethel Waters, Billie Holiday and Muriel Lane.
Entertaining, and offering a variety of high energy jazz this band provides "good-time" music, enjoyed by all.
Come join us - you'll love it.
